Watching a much more Serious Cyclist evaluate various bicycle chain degreasers, starts out with one of his used chains, "this is a really dirty chain". It's a good video, but, oh my sweet summer child. (I really wish I had a full chain case for my bikes.)

The rear frame and wheel of a venerable Big Dummy with the cargo carrying sides removed. The frame was previously wrapped with squishy red handlebar tape to protect it from cargo/bag abrasion, but some of that has worn away or come loose, exposing tubes, some with the paint worn away to bare metal, and much rust around the exposure. The hub (large, block, Rohloff 14-speed) is filthy with lubricant and road dust residue, the frame near the hub is similarly vile, the derailer-repurposed-as-chai…
